Too Much Information?


What do you guys out there think of salary surveys ?
Are they a useful guide on what to expect salarywise or, do these surveys give employers too much power and help them to keep salaries low cause they know you cant do better elsewhere?

Do they reduce competition for staff?

Do they also increase dissatisfaction with you job? If you are earning below average, what can you do? I reckon it would make me feel a bit miserable and dis-satisfied if I knew I wasnt even getting an average salary.
