Suitable cars for accountants?

Greetings everyone,
I’ve been searching for an answer to this question and have so far been unsuccesful. So I thoguht I would try here. I am due to be starting Audit at KPMG in September, and I was thinking about purchasing a relativley cheap old Land Rover Discovery (4wd’s are my hobby). However, i’ve recently been told by quite a few people that it would be most unsuitable for work and going to clients, and the usual golf, etc have been suggested. I was just wanting to know if there really is an unwritten requirement for the type of car you drive.

Any help is much appreciated.

I think that’s fine, as long as it doesn’t look like it’s been on safari. If in doubt, just park it across the street. To be honest they’ll be more worried about partners turning up in Ferarri’s because it gives the impression the client is being fleeced.
