It could be as simple as being sympathetic with someone who’s suffered a loss.

A pep talk for a team that’s performing badly and you needed to gee them up.

Talking respectfully to someone in authority and making your message short and succinct as you know their time is short.

Talking to a group of experts you were able to use more technical language while when talking to a more general audience you couched your message in simple terms so that you didn’t use them.

Think of how you deal with people everyday, you’re actually tailoring your style and not even realising.
