I will shortly be starting a job as a Credit Analyst on the loan syndication desk of a small, self-contained bank within a major European banking group. The team is quite small, so my understanding is that I will get a fair amount of exposure to the entire syndication process, from origination to monitoring of the loan once its has been issued, as well as significant modelling experience.
I was wondering, how are the exit opps for this type of role? And what would they be? There seems to be a lot less information on the loan syndication sector vs other fields within banking. What type of buy-side roles would I be able to apply for after a few years in this job? I was thinking along the lines of credit fund managers and CLOs.
Thanks in advance!
