Investment banks clients

I have heard that some investment banks ask you about their client base or what potential client would you ideally try and secure if you were working for them.

Can anyone give me any examples of clients? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but i’m currently absolutely clueless.

Clients of investment banks are typically: corporations (advisory, risk management, bond or equity underwriting), governments, fund managers (pension funds, hedge fund…) and wealthy individuals (asset management, wealth management).

@allmodcons, you do know if you go onto any Buldge Bracket IB website, most of them tell you what types of clients they facilitate - silly question!?

Thanks guys!
