Having got through quite a “fluid” recruitment process with one the big four, I have found myself about to start a position with them in funds market audit - not the position I applied for. I did explain to them that it is an area I’m unfamiliar with but they seemed to think that having general audit experience - which I do - would be more important to begin with.
Now, I have to emigrate over the xmas period to start in January and so, on top of the stresses which that is bound to bring,I’d prefer not to be playing catch up having gone in to the job blind. So I was hoping somebody may be able to give me a heads up on the type of work I’ll be doing and how it ties up with “traditional” audit work? And also if you could suggest any good reading materials?
