Hi Guys,

I recently got an email from PKF saying that the ACA service line was full, and that I had to apply somewhere else. They offered me the opportunity to do the CIPFA (The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) qualification, but I don’t know much about this

Is it highly regarded?

Is it worthwhile to apply to do this qualification?

Please let me know,

It’s an accounting qualification focused on public sector accounting and finance, it’s very highly regarded in the public sector. The kind of work you would be doing is auditing local government, NHS primary care trusts etc. Don’t know if it would necessarily make you a future millionaire though but it could be a good stepping stone to other things.

More information is available on their website:

Also, you can apply to be an ACA without the exams after 5 years:
